Stress!!

So today has been a stressful day! My dog had to have major surgery and as many of you can relate to, he is my heart! Here is a picture of him (pre-surgery)

So, when I am stressed I tend to forget or should I say over look things.... So with the stress of his surgery and the stress of finishing grad school this weekend, this is what I did.....
Yep! Two different shoes at work today! Luckily I realized about 10am and was able to go home for lunch and change.

Update: Tyson is doing fine. Very sleepy and drowsy but okay. Thanks for all the love and prayers!

I'm back!

Sorry it's been a few days...almost a week....since I blogged last. What a week it has been. Since I missed my HFFF I wanted to share some things that happened this week!
1. I was able to see some of my favorite people this week for dinner! And I met a new friend.
2. I tried a new restaurant with my mom yesterday for lunch, Mickeys's Cafe at Lake Ella and really enjoyed the food, atmosphere and company.
3. I saw a much needed funny movie with  some great people Saturday night. I recommend the movie Ride Along to those looking for a good laugh.
4. I am starting my spring cleaning (and decluttering) early! Yay for donating and getting organized!
5. (Probably my favorite) I have 1 week left and then I will be done with school forever!!!!! Yay!!! Thank you so much to all of my family and friends for all of the love and support during this process! This time next week I will be Kate McElreath, MBA!!!

Taking things for granted

Today I saw a quote about taking things for granted and I wanted to take a few minutes to think about (and blog about) things that I am so grateful for and blessed to have.
First of all, I am so grateful for my friends and family! They are there for me thru everything and I couldn't ask for any better! I am thankful for the simple things in life such as food, water, shelter and clothing! I am grateful to have a job, even if there are days I don't enjoy it,I am always grateful for it. I am so very thankful for every opportunity that I am given. Those opportunities,no matter how big or small, make me who I am! Education is definitely something I am grateful for! Even though I have been in school more years than not,I am so blessed to have the education I have.

Take some time this week, and every week, to think of the things you may take for granted. Be grateful for even the lost simple things in life because they may mean the world to someone else.

Movies:
1. Saving Mr. Banks (if you have ever seen Mary Poppins, you should see this)

2. Golden sisters (love these sisters. 3 sisters in their 70's and 80's who are precious!)
3. Extreme Couponing ( saving money is always fun)
4. Hart of Dixie ( about a doctor from NYC that moves to a small town in Alabama)
Books:
1. Seriously, I'm kidding (book by Ellen and is definitely a reflection of her)
2. Anything by Nicholas Sparks (what can I say, I am a hopeless romantic)
Music:
1. Taylor Swift
2. Luke Bryan
3. Jack Johnson
4. Casadee Pope
5. Scotty McCreary
6. Sister Hazel

High Five For Fridays (HFFF)

Yay! It's Friday!
I think everyone loves Fridays! High Five For Fridays highlights 5 things that have happened this week, no matter how big or small. So here goes...
1. I am 1 week closer to graduation!!! Yay!
2. I had dinner with 2 of the best cube mates ever on Wednesday! Love being around great friends.
3. I took a leap of faith/adventure this week but once I know how it plays out I will share!

4. I have been watching Sweet Home Alabama for several weeks and it ended tonight. I loved the ending. True love is something wonderful and special!
5. Last but not least, I FINALLY got my car back today. My wreck was on 11/21 and I haven't had my car since then. Feels like a new car!

Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for the love and support!

Reading = knowledge, vocabulary and fun!

This year I have decided to read more for fun! I like reading but as many of us know, when life gets busy there sometimes isn't much time for reading. I am starting out with 1 book per month this year. I am currently reading Ellen Degeneres' book "Seriously, I'm kidding" and it is WONDERFUL!! It is a fast read because it is funny and is so personable. There are a few more books I have in mind to read but definitely would love suggestions from anyone. I like most types of books so any ideas are welcomed! The books I am planning to read are:
• Happy, Happy, Happy (duck dynasty)

• The latest Nicholas Sparks book (I am a sucker for sappy romance books)

FSU vs. Auburn

Whoo who! Tonight is the big game! Since I am from Tallahassee I am cheering on the Noles tonight (and wearing Garnet and Gold today) but I won't be mad if Auburn wins! Both teams have played well and I just hope for both, a great game with no injuries!! Good Luck to both teams!!

Be safe wherever you are watching the game and remember, it's a game and both teams have played well this year! Go Noles!!

Money Challenge

Happy Sunday Everyone! Sorry for not posting yesterday. I am a little under the weather but on the bright side, that gives me lots of time to browse Pinterest ;) This year I have decided to do things to better myself and my future... One of those things is save more money. Savings can be a helpig hand when something bad happens or can be used for a downpayment on something new. I saw something on Pinterest and wanted to share with everyone. Money is a stressful thing for individuals, couples and families and saving money sometimes seems to overwhelming! I have found a way that makes it a little easier! It is called the money challenge and it can be done 1 of 2 ways. I have posted the pictures below but I will explain it also. Both ways do the same thing, save $1,378! Each week you put in a set amount of money. Each week you put in the amount of money based on the week of the year. So for 52 weeks, you will put in the corresponding amount for that week. For example, in the 5th week of the year you would put in 5 dollars or 48 dollars depending on which way you choose to do the challenge. I am going to try it this year so I will post again sometime soon to let you know how I am doing. I hope others will accept this challenge too!!
Way 1: Start out slow

Way 2: Jump right in!

This week, do something nice for a stranger. Whether it be holding a door for someone you see struggling or paying it forward at Starbucks! Show kindness to others and maybe kindness will spread! xoxo, Kate

TGIF!!

Today is finally Friday and even though it was a shorter work week it seemed long! So in honor of a short work week, I decided to do a short blog today. I decided this year not to make resolutions but to make life changes/decisions. I decided that each year I am going to strive to be the best me I can be. I saw 2 quotes/sayings on Facebook that I thought I would share! I think it's a great perspective to have for the new year....

2014 means the start of a new blog!

Welcome 2014! This is going to be a great year and to start the year off on a good note I have decided to start a blog! One of my very best friends started a blog not long ago and I really admire her blog and think that it is something creative to do to share life events and things I find worth sharing! I am a hippie at heart so I figured Peace and Love and Everything in Between was the perfect name for my blog! I love my friends and family more than words can say and I am so blessed to have them in my life! I also love Pinterest and most of my friends know, especially since some of them receive pins from me frequently! I am planning to use this blog in a creative way but since I am fininshing up my MBA this month, I may throw a few study tips/interesting facts in to the mix. Thanks for all of your love and support! xoxo! Kate
